On 19 December 2006, Europe officially issued COMMISSION REGULATION (EC) No 1881/2006 setting maximum levels for certain contaminants in foodstuffs that's included many heavy metals: Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, Tin (inorganic). In Vietnam, the Ministry of Health (MOH) issued Vietnam National Technical Regulation QCVN 8-2:2011/BYT regarding the limits of heavy metals contamination in food.
