Bureau Veritas joins hands with the Truong Son 2 Wind Power Plant Project – A new milestone in the renewable energy sector in Southeast Asia

Amidst the strong global energy transition, Bureau Veritas is proud to be selected as the Owner’s Engineering Consultant for the Truong Son 2 Wind Power Plant Project – one of the largest and pioneering wind power projects in Southeast Asia.
The investor is Truong Son 2 Energy Co., Ltd – a member of Viet Lao Energy Investment JSC. The project has a total installed capacity of 350 MW, located in Borikhamxay and Khammouane provinces, Lao PDR, with a total investment of USD 555 million. It is expected to be implemented from June 2025 to December 2026.

Project Highlights
- Challenging terrain: The project is situated in rugged mountainous areas, requiring exceptional technical and management capabilities throughout the transportation, construction, and installation processes.
- Cutting-edge technology: Featuring 52 GWH182-8MW/6MW turbines – the largest onshore turbine model in Asia, with a design lifespan of up to 25 years, affirming its technological leadership.
- Electricity export: All generated electricity will be exported to Vietnam via a 220kV transmission line spanning 105 km, marking a significant step forward in cross-border energy cooperation.
