Bureau Veritas shares insights to support Vietnamese Electronics Manufacturers meet evolving global supply chain requirements

On August 5, 2026, Bureau Veritas participated in and co-organized the Vietnam Electronics Forum 2026, themed “AI-Driven Vietnam Electronics Industry: A New Era of Global Supply Chains”, hosted by the Vietnam Electronics Industries Association (VEIA) in Hanoi. The forum brought together industry experts, businesses, technology leaders, and international organizations to discuss the trends shaping the future of the electronics industry, including artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, ESG requirements, and sustainable development across global supply chains.

At the event, Bureau Veritas shared expertise through two key discussions, focusing on the evolving requirements that Vietnamese electronics manufacturers need to address to strengthen competitiveness and enhance positioning within the global electronics supply chain ecosystem.

In the session “New Standards and Requirements from Global Customers for Vietnamese Suppliers,” Tran Ngoc Diep, Southeast Asia Sustainability Development Project Manager at Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, highlighted the trends increasingly influencing supplier selection by multinational corporations. The presentation covered ESG requirements, carbon accounting and emissions reduction, product traceability, the Digital Product Passport (DPP), and emerging regulations from the European Union, the United States, and leading technology brands.

According to the insights shared, businesses are now expected not only to meet traditional requirements related to quality, cost, and delivery performance, but also to demonstrate transparency throughout the product lifecycle. In particular, the Digital Product Passport (DPP) is becoming an essential tool for enabling product traceability, providing transparent data, and supporting compliance with increasingly stringent ESG expectations in international markets.

In the session on “ESG Requirements and Sustainable Development in the Global Electronics Supply Chain,” Nguyen Huynh Thanh Phong, Sustainability Manager of Bureau Veritas Vietnam, discussed how international customer expectations regarding ESG performance are evolving. The presentation emphasized sustainability as a strategic business driver that can help organizations improve market access, manage risks, and strengthen competitiveness as the global electronics manufacturing landscape continues to transform.

Discussions highlighted the importance of accelerating digital transformation, adopting AI technologies, strengthening governance capabilities, and aligning with international ESG standards to create greater value within the production networks of global technology companies.
