Responsible Jewelry Council Certification Services

Introduction

Responsible Jewelry Council’s Code of Practice (CoP) is a landmark standard for the jeweler supply chain and addresses a wide range of supply chain issues, including business ethics, human rights, social and environmental performance.

Bureau Veritas is accredited by the RJC and can provide members with third-party verification services in different countries worldwide. Our extensive expertise in certifications helps guide companies through the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) certification process, ensuring ethical and sustainable practices within the jewelry industry.

As an accredited RJC certification body, we conduct thorough on-site assessments, providing impartial and objective evaluations of companies' operations post self-assessment completed by the member company. Upon successful completion of the audit, we submit our recommendations to the RJC, enabling companies that meet the stringent requirements to obtain RJC Certification.

Challenges

The precious metals industry has intensified its focus on ethical sourcing practices due to consumer concerns over human rights and environmental impacts throughout the supply chain. Leading organizations now prioritize implementing stringent standards and protocols to uphold workers' rights and environmental sustainability across all facets of precious metal extraction, production, and distribution.

The Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC), a global non-profit established in 2005, spearheads the integration of responsible practices throughout the jewelry supply chain, from mining to retail. Achieving RJC Certification is a mandatory requirement for commercial members within two years, involves a meticulous assessment of compliance with the Code of Practice's stringent criteria.
