Could you share your journey of joining Bureau Veritas and the steps in your career development?

I joined Bureau Veritas Vietnam in 2010 as a trainee auditor for the IATF 16949 system. In 2013, I was appointed as the TQR & HSE Manager for the Southeast Asia region, responsible for overseeing Technical, Quality, Risk, and HSE management. By 2017, with the strong growth in the Southeast Asia region and the integration of the Commodities division, I was trusted by the leadership team and promoted to the position of TIQ & HSE Director.

What makes you feel most proud of working at Bureau Veritas?

Working at Bureau Veritas, one of the leading global groups in the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, I am always proud of how the company builds Trust and Safety. I also value its diverse and inclusive culture, especially its commitment to people development, providing learning opportunities, and contributing to social progress.

What has inspired you the most during your time at Bureau Veritas?

It’s the mission of  Shaping a World of Trust by ensuring Responsible Progress. This is not just a job, it’s part of a greater effort to build a safer, more sustainable, and trustworthy world for everyone.

What is special about the working environment at Bureau Veritas that makes you want to stay long-term?

I have always received attention and support from the leadership, as well as closeness, sharing and collaboration from my colleagues. Most importantly, I’ve had continuous opportunities to learn and improve — not only in my professional expertise but also in other essential skills.

In your opinion, what are the key factors that help an employee grow sustainably at Bureau Veritas?

You need to have a solid professional foundation and a continuous learning mindset. Integrity and professional ethics are also crucial when working in the TIC industry. For every task, it's important to demonstrate proactiveness and a strong sense of responsibility. In the era of Industry 4.0, having a global mindset and being agile in the face of change are essential for sustainable growth and adaptability.

How do you feel you have changed in terms of skills or mindset since joining the company?

Before joining Bureau Veritas, I worked at several manufacturing plants from Japan and Germany, dealing with highly specialized products and standards. However, after joining BV, I had the opportunity to learn and gain exposure to a much broader range of knowledge and an extensive system of technical standards that cover nearly every aspect of society. Especially when working with colleagues and cultures from around the world, having a global mindset and the ability to integrate is essential.

Do you have any advice for candidates who are considering joining Bureau Veritas?

For any company, it's essential to understand and embrace its core values, in addition to having strong professional knowledge. Beyond that, important soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, the ability to work independently, and teamwork are crucial. Company culture is also a key factor that you should explore to ensure you can integrate well into the organization
