BV MARK SCOPE

WELCOME TO THE BV MARK

To help its clients meet the increasing demands of end users, two new BV Mark schemes covering product certification for marketing claim verification and performance, chemical control, and safety have been introduced.

EXTRA VALUE

• Trust-building for up-and-coming retailers, particularly online one
• Proof of qualifications for private label or high-risk products
• Verification of an uniqueness to boost sales with new retailers
• For each product, clients can have several statements validated in order to meet varying market requirements.
• Validation of a product's environmental performance, like its ability to withstand weight or reduce CO2 emissions or water toxicity.
• To promote differentiation and improved supply chain control, technology items supplied in the EU can only obtain certification for performance, chemical control, or safety.

CERTIFICATION MARK CRITERIA

1) DURABILITY

• Packaging Workmanship and layout.
• Defects, Product Workmanship, User manual check, Product labelling verification

2) HANDLING

Practically oriented tests of daily use on the device are carried out and assessed: Unpacking / Assembly, Buttons / Switches, Parts and Accessories, Product ease of use, Maintenance, Ease of Cleaning

3) FUNCTIONS

Every feature in the instruction manual is examined, tested, and clarified. For example, the coffee maker's function:

• Brewing temperature of the coffee
• Temperature of the coffee
• Residual water
• Energy consumption
• Quantity of coffee produced with minimum and maximum quantity of cold water
• Time to prepare minimum and maximum quantity of coffee

4) DURABILITY

Based on the length of the warranty or guarantee, durability tests are conducted and evaluated, including mechanical stability and endurance on the device and its components.

5) EVALUATION CRITERIA

For Mark granting, the Performance level VERY GOOD or GOOD is mandatory which corresponds to a value of at least 2.5 from 1) VERY GOOD (0.5) to 5) POOR (5.5).
