OFFSHORE

Offshore asset owners must assure a variety of stakeholders that their fixed and floating units can operate safely and comply with shelf regulations in force. Thanks to its experience, expertise across all types of offshore assets, and global reach, Bureau Veritas provides clients with peace of mind throughout the classification process. Once your unit is classed, Bureau Veritas provides written assurance declaring the facility in compliance with classification standards.

  • We verify the safety of structures and marine systems by assessing equipment design and functions as well as structural strength and integrity

  • Our global presence provides accessibility regardless of your assets’ location

  • We offer expertise in classing conversions of tankers to floating offshore units

  • Bureau Veritas performs class transfers on behalf of its clients, handling all steps in the process

OFFSHORE FACILITIES

DEDICATED RULES FOR OFFSHORE FACILITIES

Through classification, among other types of 3rd party services, Bureau Veritas supports operators with appropriate compliance framework adapted to each type of unit (oil and gas offshore production and storage units, drilling units and other service vessels).
Our rules and guidance notes are continuously updated and new rules are developed to answer industry needs.

FSRUS

DEDICATED RULES FOR FSRUS

In response to growing LNG demand, Bureau Veritas released NR 645, Rules for the classification of Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs). These Rules set out technical and operational requirements, to which Bureau Veritas applies a unified approach, providing clarity for safety and design challenges.

DIVING SYSTEMS

RULES FOR DIVING SYSTEMS

Our NR 610 Rule covers the classification of diving systems, offering class symbol, construction mark, and service notations. The Rule defines requirements for structures ranging from surface-supplied systems for shallow-water diving to complex saturation systems for deep-sea diving.
